Eric James has Passed Away.... Charlie Chaplin's Musical Associate
I have just received very sad news from Peter Hitchcock, that Eric James, who worked many years with Charlie Chaplin as Music Associate, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in Whitby, Ontario. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family... MORE

Very sad news. I believe that James was Chaplin's last surviving major collaborator, which means that an era has passed with him.
I think you are right on that. I can't think of someone off hand that is left who worked directly with Chaplin. Special thanks extended to Peter Hitchcock. I know his whole family are feeling a great lost today...
